Things to Do in Turkey An Abundance of Activities, Pursuits and Attractions Historic Cultural Side itself dates back to the Roman Empire when it was a very important trading port and much evidence of this period still remains standing, with many more ruins being excavated. One of the evident land marks of this time is Side's beautiful well preserved amphitheatre, which is still used for concerts during the summer months, and with a music festival taking place during the month of September. A stroll down the main street of Side will bring you to the pretty harbour with many Turkish restaurants overlooking the bay. Adjacent to Side harbour is the famous Apollo temple where it is said Mark Anthony proposed to Cleopatra (pictured top right). These are just in side town alone and there are many trips and excursions just a short drive away that will show you many of the Turkish history dating back to biblical times and before. Adventure Action and Family Activities On the beach you can enjoy a range of activities such as jetski, wind surfing, boat hire, Para sailing water skiing, scuba diving and much more!! There are many fantastic boat trips which that many people can enjoy including a brilliant day out to see the dolphins swimming in the lovely blue Mediterranean Sea (pictured right). One of my families favourites. Other pursuits and trips are available such as quad biking, rafting (fantastic full day out even for small children), Jeep safari and many more. Beach
